The State Government has this morning announced a series of grants for eligible businesses in Victoria affected by the circuit-breaker lockdown restrictions.
The first is a second round of the ‘Business Costs Assistance Program’, offering grants of $2,500 for eligible businesses such as restaurants, cafes, event suppliers, accommodation providers and retailers.
The second is the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund, where venues with an eligible liquor licence and food certificate will receive a $3,500 grant per premises. Licensed businesses who are eligible for this grant will be contacted directly.
The third is a dedicated Victorian Events Support Package targeted for the events industry.
It appears these packages will be directed to small and medium-sized businesses and sole traders, being those with a payroll less than $10 million.
Businesses can register their interest at business.vic.gov.au and should do so as soon as possible so they are notified when applications for the grant formally open. The grant will open on 2 June 2021 and remain open for three (3) weeks.
Further information regarding eligibility for the above support will be published in the coming days.
