About Elizabeth

With over 30 years of experience in the commercial and hospitality areas, Elizabeth has an extensive practice involving all types of transactions for licensed premises and the associated gaming and liquor law compliance issues.

Her recent experience includes:

  • Advising clients on applications for planning permits for licensed premises, and other uses, as well as working with councils, consultants and regulatory authorities to obtain the required approvals for clients.
  • Managing planning and liquor due diligences for licensed site, and regularly conducting planning and licensing matters at VCAT.
  • Acting in transactions involving the sale and purchase of licensed businesses and/or freeholds, including major group sales and purchases.
  • Assisting clients in disciplinary proceedings and compliance issues related to conducting a licensed business.
  • Acting in numerous applications for gaming machines before the VCGLR and/or VCAT.
  • Advising clients for all types of applications to Liquor Control Victoria and the Victorian Gambling Commission.
  • Negotiating leases of licensed premises for landlords and tenants.
  • Providing leasing advice for commercial and retail properties and general commercial conveyancing.

Elizabeth has particular experience in leases covered by the Retail Leases Act 2003 and the dispute procedures under that Act with the Small Business Commissioner and/or VCAT.

Elizabeth has long standing client relationships and contacts in the hospitality industry and is able to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to her clients matters, concentrating on achieving commercial outcomes whilst protecting her clients interests in an increasingly regulated environment.
