Tim commenced practising as a lawyer in 2009 and became a Director of BSP Lawyers in 2021. Along with Peter Bazzani, Tim heads up the property and commercial law practice at BSP Lawyers.
Tim is a commercially focused lawyer who takes a personal approach with clients, using his knowledge and experience to ensure he provides the right mix of technical advice and common-sense guidance to achieve practical commercial outcomes.
Tim has a broad commercial background from which he has gained extensive knowledge and experience in the following practice areas:
- Business acquisitions and sales, including transactions that involve complex issues relating to liquor licensing, gaming arrangements, property interests, leases, employees, finance and regulatory requirements.
Recent experience includes:
– Acting on the sale of a freehold going concern gaming hotel business to a listed group for $44m.
– Acting for a private client on its purchase of a freehold going concern gaming hotel business for $66m. - Retail and commercial leasing, acting for both landlords and tenants across all facets of retail and commercial leasing.
Recent experience includes:
– Acting for a commercial tenant in the negotiation of the lease of their national headquarters with an annual rental of >$2m.
– Acting for a retail tenant in a market rent review resulting in a 30% reduction to the rent.
- Commercial Property transactions, including transactions that involve substantial financial commitments and complex contractual obligations.
Recent experience includes:
– Acting for three private entities in the successful $76m joint sale of a large commercial site within the Melbourne CBD.
– Acting for a private client on the acquisition of an operational quarry site for $30m.
Tim’s clients range from high-net-worth private clients, to national franchisors, to professional sporting clubs and listed companies.
